The 30-Second Elevator Pitch
“When your mouth is OPEN, so is your business. When your mouth is CLOSED, so is your business.” So... learn to talk about your business. While the term “30-sec elevator pitch” is still popular in the business world, it’s more important to think of an elevator pitch as a 30-second verbal commercial, a description of what you do and why someone should work with you. Other terms for the elevator pitch you might be familiar with are: elevator speech, networking commercial, or personal commercial. It's called an "elevator pitch" because it describes the challenge:" How would you explain your business and make a sale if you were in an elevator with your dream prospect and you only had the time it takes to get from the top of the building to the bottom?" Your message will be different based on your target audience.
